Summary: The article considers problem of necessity to form paradigmal knowledge concerning cinematography and culture as interacted phenomena. In this regard we describe the situation of possible transgression of any extreme limited form of rationality, and formulate principles of construction of methodological paradigm concerning randomly complex objects.

THE HERMENEUTIC CIRCLE AT THE LIGHT OF COMPARATIVE CULTURAL STUDIES: ETHOS OF PROTESTANTISM AND AMERICAN CRITICISM OF DOSTOEVSKY'S NOVELS

Summary: This article is dedicated to the problem of intercultural dialogue and specifically to the problem of translation, perception and understanding the foreign cultural codes. Using as basis the known literary works devoted to Dostoevsky’s novels the author gives a set of examples of how American critics perceive and treat the ideas of the Great Russian writer through their own Protestant moral and philosophy. At the same time, the issues like peculiarities, dangers and the possibility of "understanding" and "interpreting" an art text are touched upon in the article.
